Joshua Smith Grew
Up in These Floors.

I was born in Indiana, but raised here from age of 9 since 1989. Before he could drive, he was on job sites with his father, learning how floors go in from the slab up. How to read a subfloor for moisture. How to cut flooring without wasting material. How to make sure a plank transition is so tight you forget it is there.

Most people learn a trade in a classroom or a training program. Joshua learned his with his hands, in Central Florida homes, from someone who had already spent a career getting it right.

That foundation did not disappear when he started his own company. It became the standard every project is held to.

He Watched Customers Make Bad Decisions With Bad Information.

After years of installation work, Joshua kept seeing the same problem. Homeowners would come home with flooring they had chosen under big box fluorescents, or in a showroom staged to look nothing like a real house, and realize the color was wrong. The tone was off. The sample looked completely different once it was laid across 400 square feet of their actual living room.

The big box store was not going to fix that. The national chain was not going to care. And the homeowner was stuck with a floor they did not love in a house they did.

So Joshua built a different model. He loaded up a mobile showroom with real materials, the same ones he installs every day, and started bringing them directly to his customers’ homes. Not to close a sale faster. To give people the only honest view of a floor that actually matters: what it looks like in their light, in their space, before they commit to it.

Honest Showroom.

Walk into any big box home improvement store and try to pick a floor. You are standing on polished concrete under fluorescent lighting, holding a 4×4 sample tile, surrounded by everything competing for your attention. The staff, if you can find one, is there to move inventory, not to advise you.

Walk into a luxury flooring showroom and the experience is better, but the problem is the same. Their floors look stunning under their lighting, against their staging, with their color palette on the walls. None of that is your house.

The only place a floor looks the way it will actually look in your home is your home. That is not a sales pitch. It is physics. The color temperature of your windows, the angle of your afternoon sun, the warmth or coolness of your existing paint, all of it changes how a floor reads.

When Joshua pulls up with the mobile showroom, you get to hold samples against your walls, lay them on your floor, and stand back and look. In your light. In your space. With someone who can answer every question about performance, maintenance, and installation right there on the spot.

About Joshua Smith, Owner of
Elite Floor Crafters

Joshua Smith has spent his entire life in and around the flooring industry. again only since I was 9 🙂

Ocala, Florida, he grew up working alongside his father on flooring jobs across Central Florida, building a practical education that no certification program can replicate.

His experience spans every major flooring category: hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, porcelain and ceramic tile, laminate, carpet, and specialty installations including custom waterjet cut tile and medallion work. He has worked on everything from single-room residential updates to full commercial floor removal and replacement.

Joshua founded Elite Floor Crafters on a straightforward premise: that homeowners in Central Florida deserve honest guidance, real materials they can evaluate in their own space, and installation work performed by someone who has been doing this since before it was his job.

He operates a mobile showroom that brings a full selection of flooring samples directly to customers throughout Ocala, Gainesville, The Villages, and Citrus County. Currently true but Jacob is starting to do these as well.   trained by me Every project is managed with the same attention to subfloor preparation, material quality, and installation precision he learned from the ground up.

Honest Recommendations

We are not paid by any flooring manufacturer. We carry what we carry because it performs well in Central Florida homes. If a material is wrong for your subfloor, your traffic, or your household, Joshua will tell you that before the quote, not after the installation.

Real Samples in Your Real Space

You will never be asked to commit to a floor based on a photo, a website color swatch, or a sample you evaluated under someone else’s lighting. The mobile showroom exists specifically so that does not happen.
