Category: Tile and Installation

Tile looks simple until it fails. Most of the tile problems we are called to fix in Central Florida come down to installation choices made before the first tile was set: an unprepared slab, the wrong thinset, cement grout in a wet shower, or a tile size that cannot follow the floor’s slope to the drain.
These articles cover how we install tile so it lasts in Florida homes: choosing tile sizes for walk-in shower floors, why we use epoxy grout on shower floors, how slab moisture affects tile and LVP, and what proper preparation looks like before installation begins. They are written from jobs in Ocala, The Villages, Gainesville and Citrus County.
