Standard cement grout on a shower floor in a Central Florida bathroom is a maintenance problem waiting to happen. Florida’s humidity, hard water, and the mold conditions that follow make cement grout in a shower floor a losing proposition over time: it stains, it supports mold growth in the joint, and no amount of sealing fully compensates for its porosity in a wet daily-use environment.
